Settimana prossima la nostra piccola Maya diventa un po’ meno piccola: compie un anno! Giá 1 anno! Un anno da quando é nata, un anno da quando io e Basti siamo diventati mamma e papá, 1 anno che non dormo piú ma vabe…Insomma un anno in cui il tempo é fluito in un modo molto strano, da percepire tutto a modo suo, tanto tanto lento ma allo stesso tempo rapidissimo. É una sensazione insolita, difficile da spiegare, ma che alla fin fine contribuisce nel farci pensare: „Giá un anno!“. Per questa ricorrenza cosí speciale, volevo scrivere un articolo dedicato a un argomento che mi sta a cuore legato ai bimbi e al miele. Perché se non lo sapevi, te lo dico qui io: é vero, i bimbi non possono mangiare il miele!
Eh??
Un giorno prima di uscire per una delle nostre passeggiate mattutine, ero passata con la Maya un minutino dai nonni di Basti a salutarli. Stavano facendo colazione. La Maya ovviamente appena ha visto la tavola imbandita e del CIBO ha iniziato a agitarsi. Ovviamente aveva fatto la sua colazione ma nulla. Tutto nella norma. Tutta la sua mamma e il suo papá. La nonna Eva naturalmente si é lasciata intenerire e le stava offrendo un pezzetino del suo panino, che aveva su un po’ del nostro miele. Io mi sono accorta in tempo e ho allontanato la Maya dicendo ‘Nein nein, Honig verboten, zu kleine‘ (tradotto: no no, miele vietato, troppo piccola). La nonna su due piedi mi ha guardato come a dire ‘eh madonna se la fai tanto difficile‘ e io dal canto mio non riuscivo a spiegarmi molto di piú purtroppo, ci ha pensato piú tardi Basti comunque. Ad ogni modo, tutto ció per dirti che anche da questa parte di mondo non é cosí risaputo che i bimbi non possono mangiare il miele, soprattutto da parte delle generazioni piú vecchie.
“Eeeh chissá quanto miele che si magna la Maya!”
Una frase che puntualmente chi ci incontra dice é :“eh Maya, chissá quanto miele che ti puoi mangiare! Mmm buono!!!“ e io subito: “ah nono, non lo possono mangiare i bimbi cosí piccoli!“. Occhiataccia interrogativa. E continuo „é vietato fino a un anno d’etá e sconsigliato fino ai due!“.
ah…Ma perché? E lí parte la classica frase “ma io ai miei da piccoli ci pucciavo il ciuccio nel miele!“
Io a ribadire: “Eh nono non si fa!”
E c’é chi aggiunge candidamente: “ah si in effetti poi gli eravano venuti tutti i dentini neri e gli erano caduti tutti, dici che era per il miele?? eh ai tempi non si sapevano queste cose!“
Ecco perché i bimbi non possono mangiare il miele
io a dire il vero quella dei denti neri e marciti non la sapevo, ma TUTTI mi hanno detto questa cosa, quindi aggiungiamo una motivazione alla lista per la quale é meglio evitarlo: non fa bene ai dentini, che per quanto siano da latte e poi ricresceranno, direi che non é il massimo farli letteralmente marcire cosí! Ad ogni modo, i bimbi cosí piccini dovrebbero evitare zucchero e sale, e il miele cos’é se non acqua e zucchero fondamentalmente? Ma la prima ragione per la quale giá l’ostetrica mi aveva detto che il miele era vietato per il primo anno di vita e per lo stesso motivo per cui io da incinta non potevo mangiarne (sigh) é…
il botulismo!
Ebbene sí, soprattutto il nostro miele, quello buono e non trattato/pastorizzato ecc non va bene, proprio per il rischio di botulismo. Assolutamente vietato a crudo. Sia durante la gravidanza che per i bimbi piccini piccini. Questo vuol dire che peró se usato per esempio per una torta, scaldato a alte temperature nel forno, si puó mangiare. A questo punto potresti dirmi: ma come, non avevi detto niente zuccheri?
L’importante é usare il buon senso!
Se ogni tanto, per dire, un bimbo si mangiucchia dei biscotti fatti con un po’ di miele invece che dello zucchero, non succede nulla…questo é ben diverso dal fatto di inzuppare tutti i giorni magari piú volte al giorno il ciuccio nel vasetto di miele, giusto? Insomma, come ogni cosa ci vuole un certo equilibrio!
Io comunque, lo ammetto, questa cosa del miele che non si puó mangiare in determinati periodi di vita, non la sapevo proprio. É stata una sorta di shock. Io poi che ci sguazzo e proprio quando ero a termine aiutavo Basti a smielare…che sofferenza! Peró é cosí, bisogna portare un po’ di pazienza. E tu lo sapevi??
