Si sente sempre piú parlare dell’importanza della natura, di aprire gli occhi perché il mondo non é messo bene, la biodiversitá in grave pericolo, #savingthepollinators #savingthebees…peró non ti pare spesso un po’ un brusio? Come un qualcosa di lontano, che non ti tocca. Tu hai la tua vita, il tuo tram tram quotidiano, anzi nonostante la pandemia tutto sommato stai bene…e via, rimane solo un brusio che si affievolisce sempre piú, perché tanto cosa posso fare? Beh ci sono diversi modi per supportare le api…e tu puoi fare la differenza!

Quali sono i modi per supportare le api??

Per andare oltre all’hashtag e fare qualcosa piú nel pratico, non c’é assolutamente bisogno di essere apicoltori o ossessionati dagli impollinatori. Tuttavia, mi rendo conto che riflettendoci potrebbe sembrare cosí. Come un qualcosa solo per pochi appassionati. O magari c’é anche la passione, ma…”non ho il giardino, come faccio a piantare piante bee-friendly?” “Non ho tempo purtroppo, come faccio a seguire delle arnie?” “Io avrei anche il giardino ma non ho proprio voglia di correre dietro alle piante!“…insomma, come fare la differenza??

…et voilá!

Ci ho pensato tanto, perché alla fin fine ad essere onesta mi sono posta le stesse domande. Siamo bombardati da notizie sull’ambiente dai toni catastrofistici, ma non ci bombardano con altrettante soluzioni. Hai notato anche tu? Per forza di cose poi diventa tutto un brusio che scivola via. Ad ogni modo io ci credo e lo so che possiamo fare la differenza, nulla é impossibile! Basta iniziare da qualche parte. Eccoti qui una lista di attivitá che possono aiutare le api in primis, ma non solo! Come un battito d’ala che smuove l’oceano, ti porterebbe a fare la differenza sia con le api, che con gli impollinatori tutti in genereale, e quindi la biodiversitá e pertanto il pianeta e le generazioni future.

Quale di questi modi per supportare le api segui giá?
  • preparare una fonte idrica: ne avevamo parlato giá, ma se te lo sei perso puoi sempre andare qui. Le api hanno bisogno di acqua, gli serve per la covata, quindi é veramente fondamentale per rinforzare sempre piú il superorganismo. Basta veramente poco, anche solo un piattino o una bacinella con degli ‘appoggi’ che possono essere dei pezzi di legno, dei vecchi tappi di sughero o delle palline galleggianti. Ricordati solo di cambiarla quotidianamente!
  • lasciare una parte del giardino intatta: se hai un discreto pezzo di giardino, sarebbe bello lasciare una parte completamente intatta. Mi spiego: una parte con cui non ci fai assolutamente nulla – ah…piú bello di cosi! ma…perché??? Beh sará come una mini oasi naturale al 100%. Magari a te non dirá piú di tanto ma alle api e alla natura fará molto piacere. Soprattutto se hai un bel giardino fatto e finito, anche senza volerlo vai a toccare degli equilibri naturali, vai a toccare l´habitat di alcuni animali che magari manco conosci ma la cui esistenza ha un perché. Ecco, questa oasi naturale ha un’azione compensativa e preserva un angolo di habitat naturale…niente male no?
  • non uccidere le api: “Un’apeee aiutoooo datemi una ciabattaaa!!!“…ma perché?? Calcola che l’ape punge solo per difendersi, tant’é che quando punge muore. Non credi a questo punto che abbia altre prioritá che quella di inseguirti per pungerti? Vivi e lascia vivere!
  • non usare pesticidi: che tu abbia un’azienda agricola o un piccolo orticello, evita di usare pesticidi, funghicidi, sostanze chimiche,… A parte che a lungo termine rovini anche il terreno e la tua stessa produzione, ma inoltre sono altamente nocivi per tutti gli impollinatori. In alternativa ci sono tante altre soluzioni Bio altrettanto valide e che non fanno male a nessuno. Noi ad esempio per il nostro orto, contro i parassiti utilizziamo un intruglio di acqua e ortica – niente di piú – e funziona alla grande! Ma anche i gusci delle uova o i fondi del caffé possono essere utili per arricchire il terreno…quindi buttali sí, ma nel tuo orto 🙂
  • comprare miele a Km 0: sostieni un apicoltore che sai come lavora e come si prende cura delle api. É un gran impegno – anche a livello sociale oserei dire – che deve essere riconosciuto e apprezzato! Dai valore alla qualitá.
  • comprare frutta e verdura a Km 0: anche qui, cerca di optare per frutta e verdura a km 0…perché sai da dove viene e sai come viene coltivata. Inoltre, in questo modo, eviti che grandi multinazionali (che con ogni probabilitá usano i pesticidi del punto prima) utilizzino aerei e navi – a loro volta inquinanti – per farti avere del cibo di bassa qualitá o fuori stagione. Pensaci! Ha senso? Vai di frutta e verdura locali di stagione che non sbagli…anche queste, fanno la differenza, ricordatelo!
  • non lasciare cibo e bevande zuccherine in giro: una volta seguendo un corso ero rimasta colpita dal fatto che da delle analisi in laboratorio erano state trovate tracce di coca-cola in un miele…eh si, le api sono golose e dove c’é zucchero loro si piazzano indistintamente, ma se si piazzano su qualcosa che dimentichiamo in giro come la merendina, o la lattina di coca cola o il bricco di te, questi sono zuccheri che non gli fanno bene decisamente e alla fine ce li ritroviamo anche noi nel miele!
  • avere un hotel degli insetti: ecco, questo ci manca ma vorremmo tanto costruircene uno 🙂 ad ogni modo non c’é bisogno di averne uno fai-da-te a tutti i costi, ne vendono tranquillamente! Offrire un hotel agli impollinatori, oltre che a richiedere pochissimo sforzo e spazio, é anche sicuramente un atto in piú che aiuta a sensibilizzare i bambini nei confronti di questi temi.
  • piantare fiori e piante apprezzati dalle api: se ti va di scoprire qualcosa di piú su quelli piú amati dalle nostre amiche api, ti suggeriamo di dare un occhio qui.
  • leggere libri, riviste e blog al riguardo: abbiamo il diritto di informarci e tenerci informati. Leggere sull’argomento non puó che darti una visione quanto piú completa sul mondo apistico e ti aiuta a farti vedere le cose da una prospettiva diversa (e a te, proprio tu che ci stai leggendo, ti ringraziamo di cuore)
  • seguire documentari e corsi sulle api: oltre a informarsi é importante anche formarsi. A seconda del tuo interesse o meno, ci sono veramente tante opportunitá (anche e soprattutto online di questi tempi) per scoprirne di piú. Io ad esempio seguo volentieri i corsi di Apicoltura Italiana webinar. Con una piccola quota associativa di 20 euro si possono seguire (anche in differita) tutti i corsi che offrono: uno piú interessante dell’altro!
  • Parlarne: come si dice? L’importante é che se ne parli 🙂 suonerá banale ma é vero. Parlate di api, impollinatori, biodiversitá con amici, parenti, cercate ricette con miele, cercate nella natura gli impollinatori, sperimentate e condividete post e foto,…piú se ne parla, piú si capisce che é importante e piú le persone saranno spronate a fare qualcosa.
  • proporre e coinvolgere l’amministrazione del tuo paese per progetti apistici: essere cittadini significa anche contribuire in prima persona e con senso civico al benessere del proprio paese. Giá proporre delle attivitá o delle iniziative volte a sensibilizzare i propri concittadini puó fare la differenza. L’amministrazione in primis puó incoraggiare a mettere in pratica dei modi per supportare le api. Sottoporre il nostro articolo all’amministrazione del tuo paese, potrebbe essere un vero primo passo 🙂
